Telic Engineering / Engines / TM2500

TM2500 commissioning. Power on wheels, on a deadline.

Installation, commissioning, modification and relocation of TM2500 and TM2500+ mobile units, on Woodward and GE control systems. Usually with a grid date that does not move.

Where we work on the TM2500

The six places on a TM2500 package where most of our work happens, numbered as in the drawing at the top of the page.

  1. 01Auxiliaries. Lube oil, start system, water wash and enclosure ventilation, commissioned with the package and not after it.
  2. 02Hot restart. An LM2500 that trips hot and is not restarted in time is locked out for four hours. We implemented and verified the modification that allows a safe restart after non-critical trips.
  3. 03Control house. Woodward MicroNet, GE Mark VI and Mark VIe or GE PAC RX3i, the HMI and the interfaces to the balance of plant.
  4. 04Fuel system. Gas, liquid or both: fuel forwarding, metering valves and fuel transfer.
  5. 05Relocation. TM2500 units move. Moving one means reconnecting, re-checking and recommissioning it, and we have done that too.
  6. 06Generator. Generator protection and synchronising, tested before the first breaker close.

What we do on the TM2500

By engineers who have done it before. Every job comes with a short daily report and paperwork you can use.

Installation & commissioning

From setting the trailers to load tests: loop checks, functional tests, first fire, synchronising and reliability run.

Balance of plant

Fuel forwarding, auxiliary power and plant interfaces, commissioned together with the units.

Control technical advisor

On multi-unit projects: an engineer who knows the control system inside out, next to the installation contractor.

Modifications

Control and logic modifications on running fleets, such as the hot restart that avoids the four-hour lockout.

Relocation

A unit moved to a new site: reconnect, re-check, recommission.

Operations start-up support

Staying on through the first weeks of running, until the operating crew is confident with the units.

Questions we get

Do you work for the OEM or for the operator?

Both. Much of our TM2500 work is for OEMs, packagers and service providers, as their field engineer. We also work directly for operators and owners. Where an OEM service contract is in place, we work alongside the OEM team, not around it.

Woodward or GE controls?

Both. We are experts on Woodward and GE control systems: Woodward MicroNet, GE Mark VI and Mark VIe, and GE PAC RX3i.

Can you commission several units at the same time?

Yes. For multi-unit projects we add contractors from our own network, under our agreement, our insurance and our reporting, with one contact for you.

How fast can you get an engineer to site?

Send the start date, location and scope and you get availability and an estimate the same working day. Offshore certificates (OPITO BOSIET/FOET, MIST, offshore medical) are kept current, so paperwork is not what holds you up.

Can you send more than one engineer?

Yes. For campaigns or several units at once we add contractors from our own network, under our agreement, our insurance and our reporting. How resource supply works.

TM2500 units arriving, or moving to a new site?

Send the start date, estimated duration, scope, systems on site and location. You get availability and an estimate the same working day.
